FOLLOW OHIO MEN' S BASKETBALL: ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio men's basketball team's 2018 Mid-American Conference schedule has been released, as announced by the Mid-American Conference on Thursday (Sept. Ohio will play 18 MAC games over 10 weeks (nine home, nine away) this season. The Bobcats will play seven teams (five in division, two cross division) twice and four (cross division) teams once. The 2018 MAC Basketball Tournament will once again be held at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. This year's tournament will begin on March 5 with first round games on campus before moving to Cleveland (March 8-10). The tournament semifinal games will once again air on CBS Sports Network, while the title game will be played on Saturday, March 10 on ESPN2.
Ohio will be looking to earn in its seventh MAC tournament crown in program history and first since 2012. The winner of the 2018 MAC Basketball Tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship field. Selection Sunday is March 11, 2018. The First Four games will be played March 13-14 in Dayton, Ohio. First and Second Round action will take place March 15-18 in Pittsburgh, Wichita, Dallas, Boise, Charlotte, Detroit, Nashville and San Diego. The West and South Regionals will be held March 22 and 24 in Los Angeles and Atlanta, respectively, while the Midwest and East Regionals will take place March 23 and 25 in Omaha and Boston, respectively. The 2018 NCAA Final Four is slated for March 31 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The national title game is scheduled for April 2.
CBS Sports and Turner Sports will televise the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. Ohio's 2017 non-conference schedule was announced last month. The Bobcats will play in front of their fans for the first time on Nov.

Senior guard became the third player in program history to reach the 2,000-point plateau, joining John Taft and Skip Henderson. Senior guard is the lone Marshall player to score 10 or more points in all six contests this season. Elmore has collected four games of 20 or more points and is six points away from surpassing South Florida's Altron Jackson for third most in Conference USA history with 2,018. SCOUTING THE BOBCATS The Bobcats are 4-2 on the season and are currently on a two-game win streak after taking down Austin Peay and Iona in their last two contests. Ohio sports a 42.8 shooting percentage from the field, but is only shooting 23 percent from beyond the arc. Ohio is outrebounding its opponents by a margin of 9.7 rebounds per game.
The Bobcats have been without Jordan Dartis due to injury to this point in the season. Last season Dartis was second on the team in scoring (12.9 ppg) and was second-team all-MAC.
Ohio was tabbed to finish fourth in the MAC East Division. WHO TO KNOW Jason Carter is back in action for the Bobcats after playing just three games during the 2017-18 campaign due to injury. The redshirt sophomore is the team's leading scorer with 18.7 points per game and is second in rebounds with 7.3 boards per contest. The forward has made 40 of his 78 attempts from the field. Teyvion Kirk is the second-leading scorer for the Bobcats averaging 16.2 points per contest in his team's first six games this season. Kirk also leads the team in assists with 19 helpers.
Freshman Ben Vander Plas scores 11.5 points off the bench for Ohio. The freshman leads the Bobcats from three-point range hitting 37.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
